  • Diagnostic Assessments

These can be done at the student’s centre or at my home. A diagnostic assessment lasts for at least three hours and can be longer, depending on the age and needs of the individual. Before the assessment I send questionnaires requesting information to help me make informed decisions on where to focus the assessment and what tests to include.

I also provide information about Louise Green Ltd’s privacy policy and a consent form for the individual or their parents/guardians.

A diagnostic assessment examines the learning strengths and weaknesses of the candidate and may identify an underlying specific learning difficulty.  Many of the assessment materials used are administered individually and the time taken for each assessment depends on the needs and speed of work of the individual being assessed.

The assessment covers cognitive ability, memory, phonological skills, visual-motor skills, reading in a variety of forms, orthography, spelling and writing and age appropriate assessment materials are used.

I follow current SASC guidelines for all assessments and undergo continuing professional development training to keep my skill and knowledge up to date.

    I hold a current APC.

For more information on any or all of these areas, please contact Louise Green

  • SASC is a standard-setting group which promotes good practice and monitors standards for SpLD assessors and practitioners.

SASC maintains the national register of qualified, specialist teacher assessors holding a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). The register can be searched by the name of the assessor or their APC Code. The Awarding Body that has issued their APC is also shown.
